一、計畫中文摘要
無障礙網路的目的是讓使用者能輕鬆地在任何地方、任何時間透過網路存取服務
，而不需做繁複的網路連線與設定。為了讓網路服務需求者和供給者之間自由、透通
的交流，無障礙網路必須提供包括註冊、查詢、配對、控管、備份、鏡射等的服務。
同時，在無障礙網路的環境下，使用者將會以各式各樣的裝置、在任何地方、任何時
間存取網路服務。這些裝置可能非常簡易，而且為了設定、安全等考量，其主要的運
算會在網路伺服器上進行，或由網路伺服器上下載需要的程式，存取這些服務的速度
便成為無障礙網路關鍵性的問題。因此本分項計畫的研究重點將集中在無障礙網路上
的中介系統，主要探討的問題是如何快速、有效、簡便的將網路上的服務提供給使用
者。要簡化使用者的存取動作並加快其存取速度，我們將研發有效率的中介系統，執
行像caching、prefetching、tracking、client-server interfacing、problem solving 等工作。
研究的課題包括如何利用大型、叢集式的伺服器支援使用者的工作環境；如何撮
合使用者和伺服器，以很快的將使用者工作環境帶到其目前的位置；如何克服網路的
延遲等。研究的項目包括叢集式伺服器的設計、快取伺服器的研發、工作環境之傳輸
及分散式運算、使用者端之系統發展等。

二、計畫英文摘要
Effortless networking aims to simplify the process of linking to and using the
services of networks.Through effortless networking, users can access network services
at any time, at any place, with any devices, without complicated setting and linking
procedures. To provide such services, effortless networks must support functionalities
such as registration, inquiry, matching, monitoring, deployment, mirroring, backup, etc.
In addition with effortless networking, users may access network services with very
simple devices. Thus main computations may be carried out at the servers or be downloaded
from the servers. Reducing the latency in providing such services becomes a critical
issue. In this project we will concentrate on the middle tiers of effortless networking
services, and study issues such as caching, prefetching, tracking, client-server
interfacing, and problem solving. We will investigate the feasibility of using large,
clustered virtual servers to support the middle tiers of effortless networking. Main
research topics will include designs of large, clustered virtual servers, development of
caching/prefetching servers, transmission for user working environments and distributed
computations, and system developments of client devices for effortless networking.
